John Danforth Faith and Politics

During much of John Danforth's career, he was known to the politically aware part of American society as the Republican senator from Missouri.

In the Senate, he was known by his colleagues as an honest man of unsurpassed integrity.

But he was also an Episcopal priest, as dedicated to the life of Christianity as he was to the role of political public service.

Now, Danforth has published his most recent book that examines the intersection between those two themes of his life. Faith and Politics will be welcome reading for those interested in the constitutional issue of "church and state."  But this book is not so much about the constitutional separation of influences as it is a religious examination of the issue.  He has found a way to bring together his love of his religion with his commitment to a reasoned political dialogue.

It's a must read for political junkies, but it's an even more important book for committed Christians.   If you fall into either category, I strongly recommend it to you!
